A ‘Complicated’ Kind of Sexy Talk with Paulo Avelino

Life imitates art in the case of the stars of Regal Films’ Status: It’s Complicated (directed by Chris Martinez), a remake of the ’70s Ishmael Bernal classic Salawahan.

Solenn Heussaff plays a foreign-educated fashion designer, Paulo Avelino a “dorky-but-cute” graphic designer, Jake Cuenca a gorgeous-looking chef and Maja Salvador a conservative hot babe. The story revolves around how their lives get caught in one another.

Real life is somewhat complicated, too. Solenn is going steady with an Argentinian businessman who’s the barkada of Isabelle Daza’s French boyfriend. Newly-separated from her girlfriend LJ Reyes (with whom he has a child), Paulo is rumored to be dating(?) KC Concepcion. Jake is in some kind of a contest for Jessy Mendiola’s heart against Sam Milby (are the Teng brothers Jeric and Jeron joining the “ballgame”?). Maja has yet to make peace with former friend Kim Chiu who suspected that Maja “stole” Gerald Anderson from her.

The other member of the movie, Eugene Domingo, is certified single and that can even be more complicated than being “double.”

Maybe the following “complicated” sexy talk will provide some clues to the little mysteries around these stars’ love life.

What is sexy to you?
Paulo: A woman who exudes an air of mystery.

When do you feel sexy?
Paulo: When I make the woman I’m with feel sexy.

What part of your body do you find sexiest?
Paulo: My eyes.

What part of a man’s/woman’s body do you find sexiest?
Paulo: Her brain.

When did you lose your innocence?
Paulo: I lost it at the movies — when I saw American Pie.
